Leandro’s work usually centres around architecture such as a swimming pool, a window, rooms etc and the Swimming Pool is a great example of what can be possible and bending the perceptions of the viewer. Leandro’s almost illusion-like pieces allow the viewer to get involved with project (in this case, walk underneath the pool).

His work looks normal at first but once you have a closer look, things are not as they seem.

The Swimming Pool was shown at the Venice Biennale (2001) and its current place of residence is a the Kanazawa museum in Japan.

The video below shows a conversation between a graphic designer and a client, if you are a web designer or developer you may find this type of conversation strangely familiar, very funny and often true. The video does contain strong language.

The video is an advertisement for a company named Xtranormal and shows-off their text-to-movie making process. Xtranormal’s philosophy is “If you can type, you can make movies”. The idea being that anyone can type in something (such as a short script) and Xtranormal will make your text into a movie, simple (well actually quite clever).

You can find out more about Xtranormal and their text-to-movies at:

This is a video I had heard a lot about from my friends, it is the cinematic trailer for the game ‘The Beatles Rockband’.

The style has a distinct anime feel to it and flows well into CGI and a grand finale. I like the way the feel of the trailor evolves in parallel to the band’s career and the music their musical direction. The the whole thing looks great and if you get 5 minutes free its worth checking it out.

You can view the trailer at:

http://www.thebeatlesrockband.com/cinematic.php

The trailer was produced by Harmonix and Passion Pictures. Passion Pictures have a very impressive portfolio having created innovative advertisements for some of the giants in the business world such as Sony and Audi as well as creating music videos for The Gorillaz.
